Hartland is a village and a township in SE Michigan, located just east of US-23 and north of I-96. The village has a population of nearly 8,000, and the greater area of Hartland Township has a population of roughly 15,000. Hartland is served by the top-rated Hartland Consolidated Schools, including Hartland High School, Middle School, and various elementary schools. Hartland was incorporated as a village in 1892 and was settled by Stephen Sylvanus Warren in 1839. The local economy was originally based on agriculture. With the development of roads, mills, stables, inns and the introduction of the railroad in the late 19th century, Hartland established itself as an integral part of the local economy and flourished into the busy village it is today.

Hartland has a lot to offer for all local families and residents. The charming downtown features historic churches, streets lined with trees, and plenty of opportunities for business, shopping and entertainment. There are numerous parks, and the Bark River running through downtown provides a scenic backdrop for the small yet bustling village. There is a local farmer and flea market, attracting vendors and consumers from all over. The Caroselli Aquatic Center located inside Hartland High School offers year-round recreation with a large waterslide and leisure pool. Since 1967, the Hartland Players have been entertaining the community and visitors with fun and original theatre productions performed at the historic Hartland Music Hall. For the charm of a small American town combined with the conveniences of any large metropolitan city, the Village of Hartland and the greater area of Hartland Township have it all.
